We are a husband and wife team who love our work and are dedicated to seeing you smile.
When not at work, we’re checking out new pet friendly B&Bs around QLD, spending time playing some classic board games (and new ones) or just enjoying a meal and good times with the people that matter most.
Meet Rebecca Hitchenson
Rebecca graduated from UQ in 2006 with honours and the coveted University Medal. She is a very familiar face around Sandgate, Brighton and Bracken Ridge as she’s been a north side girl her whole life. Many already know Rebecca as an amazing children’s dentist but her interests extend from anyone from 1 to 100.
An experienced dentist, she has practiced in the north side of Brisbane for almost a decade and is excited to work in a clinic that she has designed and reflects her true personality. Rebecca is extremely meticulous and enjoys all aspects of dentistry and loves the variety of treatments available (from crowns, endodontics, hand made restorations and everything in between). Her belief in dentistry is that she would rather educate you on how to look after your teeth than spend a lifetime fixing them. When not at work Rebecca loves to try new baking recipes, catch the latest blockbuster at the movies, learn all there is about reality tv shows and just spending time with her puppies Kelbo and Mosby and of course, spending quality time with her daughter Sarah.
Meet Sean Hitchenson
Sean graduated from UQ in 2006 with honours. What Sean lacks in good looks, he makes up for in dental skill and personality. Sean has worked for Queensland Health for many years working in many roles from Senior Dentist, Principal Dentist and even Director of Logan area where he was responsible for over 100 staff.
He has gained experience from working in some of the city’s best private practice clinics. He has a passion for teaching, mentoring, surgery and loves working with new materials to get the best result. He has worked closely with Griffith University for over 7 years teaching final year students the tips of the trade and keeps abreast of the latest techniques that are on offer from the new generation. He believes learning happens both ways and is a journey that never ends. When you’re in the surgery with Sean there might be some bad jokes, a bad sing-along to the radio or a philosophical discussion on the latest games or tv shows. His belief in dentistry is that if it isn’t good enough for his family, it’s not good enough for you.
Meet Amanda Sinn
Amanda had her first dental assisting job working for QLD Health and completed her Certificate 3 in Dental Assisting during 2012. She has worked with Sean for many years and was excited to be a part of the Smile Time family when the opportunity arose.
She is the voice of Smile Time when you call for your appointment, the first smile you will meet when you enter the door, the compassionate hands resting on your shoulder during through those nervous times and the OCD nurse when it comes to making sure the instruments are pristine and immaculate.
When Amanda isn’t at Smile Time, she is spending her time with her partner, her family and friends and her fur baby chihuahua Archie.
Sean and Rebecca are thrilled that Amanda is a part of the team and couldn’t imagine Smile Time without her. She isn’t just our dental nurse, she’s part of our family!
